Dealer Relationship Manager, Dallas-Ft. Worth TX

CU Direct Connect, a credit union service organization (CUSO) which supports the indirect auto lending for our participating credit unions is currently seeking a Dealer Relationship Manager in the Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas metro area.  

The Dealer Relationship Manager (DRM) for Dallas Ft. Worth, Texas is responsible for generating indirect retail loan transactions from automotive dealerships for CU Direct Connect and the participating Credit Unions. The DRM will be educating and training current dealer partners in the assigned area, as well as acquiring new dealerships and contacts for the program. This will be accomplished by making sales calls to auto dealerships in the Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX metro area and surrounding territories in which dealerships exist. The DRM will manage all aspects of the dealer’s relationship which includes generating loan volume and executing a high service level for each dealership client. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential dealerships within the Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX metro area;
  • Help facilitate processing of loans at the dealership and from home office primarily resolving rehash decisions and working with other CU Direct Connect underwriters on general application decision needs;
  • Educate the dealerships with the CU Direct Connect program and all the processes involved;
  • Use the established contact management system to summarize activities for the previous week, as well as present a strategic plan for the following week;
  • Understand competition in their market, industry trends and vitality of  their dealer portfolio;
  • Maintain a heightened awareness of all opportunities to grow the business for the CU Direct Connect program;
  • Identify specific sales and account management strategies for each account with intent to increase loan volume and market share.  Responsible for creating, documenting and managing to these strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or commensurate experience;
  • 5+ years of experience in Sales and/or Account Management;
  • Experience in the Auto Dealership lending industry preferably currently working for a lender;
  • Knowledge of and contacts with Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas dealerships is necessary;
  • Work independently with a high level of initiative;
  • Previous underwriting experience with consumer automotive loans is a plus;
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize activities;
  • Strong verbal and presentation skills;
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including internet and email skills;
  • Extensive day travel through the Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX metro territory will be necessary initially and will grow where needed within the Dallas-Ft. Worth territory;
  • Other travel to accounts outside of the Dallas-Ft. Worth metro area as necessary;
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle;
  • Must live near the Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX metro area;
  • No relocation is available for this position.
