CU DIRECT CONNECT HIRES NEW SALES EXECUTIVE; PROMOTES OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE

10 Nov 2016

CENTENNIAL, Colo.--()--CU Direct Connect (CUDC) today announced that it has hired Nicholas Haaf as its new Chief Sales & Marketing Officer.

“We’re excited to add Nick’s extensive financial services and auto industry experience and his relationship skills for the benefit of our dealer and credit union partners,” states Blair Korschun, President/CEO of CUDC.

“I’m both humbled and proud to join the incredible growth story of CUDC, and I look forward to helping the company and its clients achieve the next level of success,” said Haaf.

Haaf previously was the Vice President of National Strategic Alliances/Business Development Manager for California Republic Bank/CRB Auto, where he had responsibility for national sales training and for the top 150 dealer groups. He also served as Senior Vice President over the national sales organization and Vice President of Procurement at Exeter Finance Corporation, a subprime auto finance company. Haaf also spent many years leading different sales channels at both Experian and TransUnion. He graduated with both a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Northern Iowa.

Haaf started with CUDC on Sept. 27, 2016. He will keep offices both at the Centennial, Colo., headquarters and in the Dallas area.

Related to this management addition, Thomas Helmers was promoted to Chief Operations & Analytics Officer for CUDC. This promotion officially added the management of the analytic functions to Helmer’s prior role of COO.

“CUDC views reporting, analytics and third-party consulting and oversight as critical roles in providing a valuable indirect program to participating credit unions,” said Helmers. “CUDC does this by providing best-in-class reporting, risk/loss and yield analysis, what-if analysis and general portfolio strategy.”

Helmers has been with CUDC from the very beginning, having worked for one of the credit union service organization’s founding credit union partners, Credit Union of Denver. Helmers then moved to CU Member Lending, which eventually became CUDC. He served as Vice President of Operations, then as Vice President of Product and Program Management. In 2011, he became COO. Helmers graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business from South Dakota State University. He also serves on the board of Consumers United Association in Colorado.
